OVERVIEW: The Reserve Components Joint Officer Professional Development Seminar (RCJOPDS), running simultaneously with the ROA National Convention & Reserve Component Expo, offers a unique joint services professional development experience for today’s serving Reservists—including the National Guard—plus NOAA, the Public Health Service and advanced standing ROTC cadets and midshipmen. The seminar provides an unparalleled opportunity to network with peers and superiors from all the uniformed services as well as to meet with service senior leadership. The Convention and seminar registration fees, which cover the registration and Joint-services breakfast, is reimbursable (if on orders, subject to command policies). This is an open enrollment professional development seminar and attendance is on a first come basis. Funding is the individual’s responsibility. Additionally, RCJOPDS participants will attend the service section breakouts and the Reserve Component Exposition.
ELIGIBILITY: All Reserve, NG, NOAA, and PHS officers in grades O1-O4 (Air Force Reserve O1-O3) and advanced standing ROTC cadets and midshipmen. NOTE: AFRC O4s attend the AFRC's Leadership Today and Tomorrow (LTT) seminar for AFRC O4 - O5s. LTT seminar information will be available soon.
ORDERS INFORMATION: Report to Seminar Project Officer, The Washington Hilton Hotel, 1919 Connecticut Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20008; Reimbursable registration fee authorized IAW with JFTR para U4535; Travel days: Sunday, February 7, 2009 and Thursday, February 11, 2010.
LOCATION, TIMES, AND DATES: The Washington Hilton Hotel, Washington, DC February 7-10, 2010. Check-in and on-site registration is on Sunday, 7 February 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. (with late arrivals registered on Monday morning). The Reserve Component Expo will be open 4:00 p.m.- 6:00p.m. The seminar concludes at the end of the ROA Presidential Reception Wednesday, February 10, 2010. . Orders should cover 7-11 February 2010 to allow for return travel.

LODGING: The hotel rate is $197 single/$222 double, plus state and local taxes of 14.5%. The hotel cut-off date is January 11, 2010. Make your hotel reservations online at the Hilton/ROA Convention Web Site. To make reservations by phone, Call 1-888-DC-HILTON or 202-797-582 and mention the ROA conference code "ROA" to ensure you receive the conference room rate.
HOTEL CHECK-IN: Check in time is 3:00 p.m. Check out time is 11:00 p.m. The hotel does offer baggage storage in the event you arrive before check in time. See the bellhop located in the hotel lobby.
RCJOPDS REGISTRATION FEES: Participation requires full convention registration fee ($485) plus the RCJOPDS seminar fee ($50). The full registration fee may be a reimbursable expense when authorized in the orders IAW JFTR para U4535. On-site registration and payment will be available without cost penalty.
An attendee and networking roster with name, rank, military duty title, unit, location and contact email will be sent to all attendees prior to the seminar with a post seminar final list. STEP ONE (Space Confirmation): All attendees need to complete this space confirmation survey by midnight (CST) January 22, 2010. Your confirmation provides the Program coordinator needed headcount information and your contact information in order to receive need to know seminar information updates.

STEP TWO (Online Registration/payment): To complete the registration process, you must register and make payment online by midnight January 22, 2010, or register on-site. Online registration requires credit card payment. After January 22, all registration and payment will be on-site. NOTICE: When registering online, choose full ROA convention registration and the RCJOPDS seminar ticket--RCJOPDS registrants are exempt from additional on-site registration fees.
