UPCOMING DEF EVENTS

Nov 19, Total Force Care: The Defense Education Forum will host a DoD and VA Healthcare Symposium entitled Total Force Care Nov 19, 2008. MG (Ret) Donna Barbisch, program chair and president of Global Deterrence Alternatives, LLC, helped make this event a reality. Attendees will hear from the Senate Armed Services Counsel on applicable legislation on this topic and from senior officials in both the DoD and VA on their visions for Comprehensive Healthcare in the Reserve Components. There will be two panels during the day one discussing existing healthcare programs such as Warrior Transition Unit Processing or the Yellow Ribbon Program, and one focusing on the health readiness issues of an operational environment. Kimberly Dozier of CBS news will be the luncheon keynote speaker having been wounded in Iraq and gone through the deployed health care environment.
