The Reserve Officers Association offers a robust educational platform that addresses the critical role of the Reserve Component in the larger scope of America's national security environment. Through its Defense Education Forum (DEF), ROA produces a wide variety of educational events addressing a variety of national security topics influencing a necessary dialogue that provides for an adequate national security. In addition, ROA provides professional development opportunities for Reservists from all branches. The Joint Officer Professional Development Seminar (JOPDS) offers young officers the opportunity to network and learn from senior officers while engaging in challenging exercises to sharpen leadership, communication, and group dynamic skills. Finally, ROA continues to support members of ROA, ROAL, their children and grandchildren through the Henry J. Reilly Memorial Scholarship Program. Given annually to those who wish to attend or are attending an accredited U.S. college or university, the Henry J. Reilly Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an individual who is pursuing a military career.
