Healthcare: A Catch-22 for Reservists Today's Reservists face a challenge in receiving the
necessary healthcare they deserve. In trying to address this challenge, HASC
Chairman Howard P. "Buck" McKeon rejected increasing
Tricare fees, but offered to extend Tricare Reserve Select for 180

NDAA FY-13 Moves to House Floor for Debate The House Armed Services
Committee recently approved a $643 billion defense budget for FY 2013. The Committee's
amendments to the bill increase pay for service members by 1.7%, limits troop
reductions, preserves equipment and manpower, and rejects the President's
proposal to increase Tricare fees. Meanwhile, Senate subcommittee hearings begin in late May. ROA is scheduled to deliver testimony to the Senate Appropriations
Committee in the coming weeks.
