National Security Reform: Trends & Case Studies

An examination of today's threat environment clearly illustrates the need for a a collaborative, agile, anticipatory and resilient system, capable of horizontally and vertically integrating all elements of national power to successfully meet the nation’s most critical challenges and opportunities. Amidst calls for the development of a new, expanded vision for national security it is critical that we thoroughly examine lessons learned and best practices in order to effectively modernize and improve the United States' national security system to better protect the American people against 21st century dangers. On Oct. 19, The Defense Education Forum (DEF) and the Project on National Security Reform (PSNR), presented two case studies offering unique insights for assessing national security reform.
