ROA Voices Concern Over TRICARE Increase The Reserve Officers Association, concerned about the recent announcement by the Department of Defense of the increase to TRICARE Standard inpatient co-pays, sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Robert Gates voicing their opinion Oct 5. Your Help is Needed To Gain Support for Senate Early Retirement Section 660 The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) is going into Conference. Section 660 of the Senate's version of the NDAA fixes the current early retirement law extending eligibility to Sept. 11, 2001, and would change the current law which only credits these mobilizations in support of a contingency operation that commenced on or after Jan. 28, 2008. Senate Votes for 10 C-17s Your efforts made a difference! The Senate voted Tuesday night to maintain funding for 10 C-17 Globemaster IIIs in its final version of the FY2010 Defense Appropriations Bill. ROA Teams Run in Army Ten Miler ROA was represented valiantly in the 2009 Army Tem Miler Oct 4 in Washington, D.C. Team 2 placed third among 28 teams competing in the Reserve Mix category. ROA Team 4 team placed 19th, and Team 3 placed 22nd in the same category. ROA Team 1 placed 30th out of 62 teams in the open mixed category.
