Early Retirement: ROA President Quoted in Senate Release
In a victory for ROA's legislative agenda, the Senate included language to backdate Reserve Early Retirement to 2001 in an NDAA amendment by Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.). ROA National President RADM Paul Kayye was quoted in Sen. Kerry's press release on the amendment saying, “The Reserve Officers Association is pleased with the Senate’s inclusion of Senator Kerry’s amendment to correct the early retirement statute in its version of the National Defense Authorization Bill. It is only fair to move back the eligibility date to include all who have served since 9/11 in support of overseas contingency operations.”
