2012 ROA Legislative Agenda
As 2012 arrives, it is important for congressional staff to be aware of the issues that ROA advocates, as they are often the first bridge to dialogue. Director of Legislative Affairs, CAPT Marshall Hanson (Ret.) recently released ROA's agenda for 2012. This agenda is a unique and dynamic document, where successes are removed and new issues are added throughout the year.

Employment Interpretation: OK Attorney Gets It Wrong on USERRA
In 2010, Oklahoma Army National Guard Colonel Rex Duncan ran for and was elected a District Attorney. However, shortly after taking office, the Army called him to active duty and he was deployed to Afghanistan. Then, in September 2011, OK Attorney General E. Scott Pruitt issued an opinion stating Duncan would not be eligible to work as District Attorney upon his return. ROA's CAPT Samuel F. Wright (Ret.), Director the Service Members Law Center, analyzes Pruitt's statement and USERRA.
