This week Rep. Mike Coffman (R-CO) urged super committee members to consider the transfer of nearly 100,000 active duty personnel into the Guard and Reserve.

The proposal submitted to the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction contends the move could represent a $90 billion cost-savings over 10 years.

	ROA Responds to Proposal for Managing AC Cuts This week, ROA cited its positions on Assured Access and Readiness Authority in supporting the recent proposal from Rep. Coffman: "As Active duty end strengths are cut, ROA and REA support transferring both manpower and equipment into the National Guard and Reserve to provide operational flexibility into the future." DOJ Seeks More Protection for Service Members Last week, the Department of Justice sent Congress proposed amendments to each of the three service member civil rights statutes.
