ROA Testifies on Employment Issues, Puts Forth Draft Legislation on USERRA ROA testified before the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee on remaining issues with USERRA, the need for employer incentives, employment-related bills in Congress, and the importance of educational programs. Included in the testimony were two draft bills regarding USERRA, “Equitable Justice for Terminated Veterans Act of 2011” and “Veterans Personnel Protection Enhancement Act of 2011." ROA Briefed on VA's Campaign to Help Vets in Crisis The VA's campaign includes the Veterans Crisis Line, which provides confidential counseling and referrals for vets and families 24/7/365, and extensive communication of VA initiatives to increase awareness and use of the hotline, support broader suicide prevention efforts and promote help-seeking behaviors.

Naval Services V.P. Meets with Rep. Allen West ROA Naval Services V.P. CAPT Gordon Austin, USN (Ret.) met with freshman Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) to discuss national security strategy, Somali pirates, and the history of military health care. West is a retired Army lieutenant colonel and member of the House Armed Services Committee. |
