Advocacy: ROA Continues to Meet with Members of Congress and Staffers
ROA had meetings with the following congressmen:
--Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.), to discuss TRICARE fees and TRICARE Retired Reserve.
--Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.), to discuss cosponsoring bills on early retirement correction (H.R.181), Fiscal Year barrier (H.R.1025), and veteran status (H.R.1238).

ROA also met with staff members from the following offices - Sens. John Tester, John Kerry, Bob Casey, and Chuck Grassley, and Reps. Lynn Westmoreland, Hank Johnson and Tim Walz - to discuss issues including early retirement correction, Fiscal Year barrier, veteran status, USERRA, revamping the structure of the Reserves, TRICARE fees, and funding the Army Reserve.


ROA Naval Services Leadership Participates in USPHS Meeting

ROA met with the staff of the USPHS Office of Reserve Affairs to discuss implementing the USPHS Ready Reserve. Specifics are not yet available for release, but favorable events are occurring which may be shared in the next few months.

Note: ROA legislative staff will provide support - agenda and position papers, congressional directories - and can accompany members who schedule meetings with elected officials in Washington. Contact mhanson@roa.org or ecochran@roa.org. ROA members can use the Minuteman Memorial Building to prepare for meetings.
