Future of RC, Funding Cuts Discussed at RFPB Meeting
 Reserve Forces Policy Board Meets, ROA Attends
ROA Briefed on Army Reserve Strategic Plans
The
Army Reserve Legislative Office briefed ROA on the new Army Reserve
Posture Plan and the 2020 Vision and Strategy Plan detailing the USAR
concept of strategic management of an enduring operational force.
ROA Meets with Several Congressmen on Number of Issues
Executive Director MG David Bockel, Legislative Director CAPT Marshall Hanson, and Naval Services VP CAPT Gordon Austin represented ROA in various meetings with congressmen:
--Rep. Joe Heck (R-Nev.), to discuss TRICARE, early retirement, fiscal year barrier, and veteran status.
--Rep. Austin Scott (R-Ga.), to discuss TRICARE and other legislative agenda items.
--Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.), to discuss possible legislation impacting Naval Services Reserve leadership.
ROA Meets with Former Rep. Chet Edwards
ROA met with former Texas Congressman Chet Edwards, who now works with TRICARE contractor and ROA STARs partner TriWest Healthcare Alliance, to discuss military, veteran and survivor health care concerns.

SMLC Suggests Improvements to USERRA
Law Center Director CAPT Sam Wright met with Congressional staffers to discuss further improvements to USERRA, and draft legislation with the suggestions was provided to Sen. Chambliss's (R-Ga.) office.
