Data backs up argument for fixing early retirement
Between 2001 and 2008, 82 percent (926 deaths) of National Guard and Reserve deaths had already occurred, but Congress is overlooking this early sacrifice by not correcting the early retirement statute to include those serving prior to 2008.

ROA testifies on Defense Health Program Cost Efficiencies

CAPT Hanson testified on changes to retiree medical fees, eligibility for the Continued Health Benefit Plan, eligibility for TAMP transitional health coverage, eligibility for TRICARE Reserve Select, increases to TRICARE fees, and numerous other important topics for the Guard and Reserve.

ROA Discusses Soft-Landing Bill
ROA met with Sen. Ron Wyden’s (D-Ore.) staff to discuss veteran status, retroactive earlier Reserve retirement, and the senator’s soft-landing bill, which would retain RC members on active duty for 45 days after deployment for reintegration into civilian life.

JOPDS-Chicago is Cancelled
Regretfully, ROA cancelled its JOPDS-Chicago event. Officers are unable to get orders funded due to the budget impasse in Congress. The short-term continuing resolution passed Tuesday would not have carried through the time of the event.
