Advocacy: ROA Responds to DoD Funding Shortfall
ROA has signed letters to the House and Senate Appropriations committees urging both to pass defense appropriations for FY2011. The Continuing Resolution (CR) process is impacting DoD activities, delaying training, procurement, and maintenance across the services, and it will continue to do so as long as Senate Democrats and House Republicans disagree on reductions in spending.

Roundtable with Minority Leader Pelosi

ROA participated in Rep. Pelosi's quarterly veteran and military service organizational roundtable. Top issues highlighted were employment, mental health and suicide, and VA claims.

Meeting with Sen. Kerry

ROA met with Sen. John Kerry’s staff to discuss retroactive earlier Reserve retirement, which would credit those that have been activated since Sept. 11, 2001, rather than just those activated since the early retirement bill passed in 2008. Sens. Kerry and Chambliss have sponsored such legislation.
