ANNOUNCEMENTS:
False Information About VA COLA
A hoax e-mail is being circulated that claims recently-passed H.R. 4667, the Veterans' Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2010, nearly doubles disability benefits, when in fact it simply included language that authorizes for this year the same COLA increases for VA beneficiaries that will be paid to Social Security annuitants and military retirees.

Low Inflation Torpedoes COLA
It appears that for a second year in a row, there will be no COLA increase for military retirees and Social Security annuitants. The COLA adjustment is based on the difference in this year's CPI-W Q3 average from the highest previous average, and so far that figure is negative.
