A KC-135 Stratotanker assigned to 465th Air Refueling Squadron, 507th Air Refueling Wing refuels a Navy aircraft during the month-long RIMPAC exercises held in July at Hickam AFB, Hawaii. The 507th Air Refueling Wing supported this event for the fifth time. The 970th Airborne Air Control Squadron, 513th Air Control Group and 970th Air Rescue Wing also joined in for the first time. As of July 28, the 507th ARW “Okies” had flown 53 sorties, 192 hours, and offloaded 2.1 million pounds of fuel in support of RIMPAC 2010.  U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Kamaile O. Long/Released

August 1, 1941 - On this day, the first mass-produced Jeep rolled off off an assembly line in Toledo, Ohio. The tough little vehicle went on to prove itself well in World War II and become widely popular at home after the war.
