DEF to Host Legal Seminar on Targeted Killings
On April 22 in Washington, DC, the Defense Education Forum and the American Bar Association will present a panel focused on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles for targeted killings, and the application of military, intelligence, international human rights, and constitutional law to this complex issue.

DEF Hosts Successful Medical Seminar in Chicago
On April 9, DEF hosted its seminar "Military Medicine: The State of the Art" for a capacity audience in Chicago. The seminar continued DEF’s focus on some of the most pressing medical issues facing servicemembers today including the evaluation and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury, medical training issues, and traumatic response.

April 14, 1950 - On this day, President Harry S. Truman received National Security Paper Number 68 (NSC-68), which formed the basis for America's Cold War policy for the next two decades. The joint DoD/State Dept./CIA report called on a policy of containment and a significant increase in defense investment to thwart Soviet expansion.
