Since 1922, The Reserve Officers Association has been the nation’s leading advocate for Reservists and their families. Reserve service members face the unique burdens of balancing civilian and military commitments. These men and women deserve a dedicated voice in creating government policy: ROA provides that voice. As the only organization dedicated to the support of all Reserve service members we work to promote the development and execution of a legislative agenda that ensures an adequate national security and a strong Reserve Component. Together ROA’s members create one voice for one fight.
ROA Petition on Survivor Benefits for
Guard and Reserve Families
Recently ROA supported a Congressional amendment to provide the same survivor benefits for spouses and children whose loved one was a Guard or Reserve member who died in the line of duty on inactive duty orders. Unfortunately, it was not included in this year’s National Defense Authorization Act even though this legislative proposal was funded in the Defense budget. To make matters worse, the proposal included debt relief to Guard and Reserve family members who were erroneously overpaid survivor benefits. Please sign the ROA petition to Congress and share the link with everyone who would sign the petition to support this legislative change. We can properly recognize the sacrifices of those who die in the line of duty by signing this petition. (Sign the Petition )
Since its founding in 1922, ROA has tirelessly advocated for Reserve and Guard members and their families. ROA has a long list of accomplishments, fulfilling its Congressional Charter to promote the development and execution of a military policy that will provide adequate national security.
Since 9/11, ROA has advocated to remove barriers for Guard and Reserve members so they could increase their operational support to the nation without detriment to them, their families or employers.
