Mid-Winter 2008

Thank You for making the Mid-Winter Conference a Success!!
With an agenda filled with exciting keynote speakers, interesting panel discussions, access to a multitude of resources and information featured in the Exposition Center, Mid-Winter Conference participants made the most of their visit to the Nation's capital. One of the earlier highlights of this week's program was a timely and landmark discussion of the key recommendations made in the just-released final report of the Commission on the National Guard and Reserve. Attendees were extended the true privilege of hearing directly from four esteemed members of the Commission. The panel was moderated by Commission Chairman Arnold Punaro.
All the panelists stressed that the report and the Commission’s recommendations are a starting point for change in obtaining a more viable national security infrastructure. Now, the recommendations must become reality through policy and lawmakers. Chairman Punaro closed the session with this exhortation: “I hope ROA will keep pressure on the bureaucrats.”
