Friends of ROA:
It is my privilege to cordially invite you to attend ROA’s "Meet the Chiefs" program. The conversation should be of interest to you. ROA is providing this opportunity to our corporate supporters as a feature of our revitalized ROA Industry Partners sponsorship program.
ROA’s Meet the Chiefs is a non-attribution discussion between Reserve Component Chiefs and ROA’s valued industry partners. It is a candid and open discussion centered around unfunded requirements, appropriation allocations, capabilities, personnel challenges and views on legislative matters. In past years, the dialogue has proven mutually beneficial.
Meet the Chiefs is an opportunity for RC Chiefs to get their message out: priorities, UFR lists, and other aspirational items; and for defense-related industry and other service providers to learn how they can help advocate and support these priorities. Meet the Chiefs is a forum for Reserve Component stakeholders to freely discuss and articulate equipment and personnel needs, equipment capabilities and opportunities, and exchange views on policy and legislative matters. In past years, the dialogue at this event has proven mutually beneficial.
Click here for an overview of the day’s schedule; a more detailed schedule will be sent to attendees once we schedule each chief.
This year’s Meet the Chiefs has a special feature: following the day’s discussions, we invite attendees to experience some history: one of the tenants in our Minuteman Memorial Building is Norfolk Southern; they own two historic Pullman cars parked on Track 7 at Union Station. One car is the 1927 “Marco Polo” Pullman car, used by President Roosevelt from 1933 to 1940 and before that while as governor of New York. Restored in the 1980s, it is essentially unchanged since FDR rode it on whistle-stop tours and into history. Connected to the Marco Polo as if ready to pull out onto the open rails is the Pullman West Virginia, of the same vintage. We will hold a reception Wednesday evening on the West Virginia and the Marco Polo will be open for your exploration.
We look forward to seeing you December 13!
